Tēnā koutou katoa, and a very warm welcome to our school community.
As the Principal of Tautoro School, it is a privilege to welcome you and your whānau to our kura. We understand that choosing the right environment for your child’s education is one of the most important decisions a parent can make, and we are honoured to partner with you in this journey.
At Tautoro School, we are committed to building a strong learning foundation for your tamariki. We know that with whānau and hapū support, your tamariki will have an amazing 8-year learning journey, gathering the necessary knowledge and skills needed to become a Rangatira for our changing world.
We believe that education is a collaborative effort. When the school, the home, and the wider community work in harmony, our students are empowered to reach their full potential.
Our students enjoy success in a range of areas from academic, through to sports, the arts and culture. Our students are supported by a teaching staff that is committed to bringing out the best in all of our students.
Tautoro School has created an engaging, inclusive, localised, and future-focused curriculum that encourages students to Learn – Create – Share. By grounding our teaching in our local context while keeping an eye on the global future, we ensure our learners are adaptable, confident, and culturally grounded.
We pride ourselves on providing a "wrap-around" environment where no student is left to navigate their path alone. Tautoro School has an extensive student support system, including:
Classroom Teachers & Whānau Leaders
SENCO Leader (Special Education Needs Coordinator)
Senior Management & Board of Trustees
Specialized Outside Providers
We also stand by our Waka Hoe School Values to create a learning journey for each student, and we work hard to ensure that all of our students have a sense of belonging from which they can achieve success.
There is a special energy at Tautoro School that can only be felt in person. I encourage you to visit Tautoro School, and we look forward to welcoming you into the whānau of Tautoro School.
Let’s work together to inspire the next generation of leaders.
