1903 Maera applied to the Minister of Education to have a school established in Tautoro.
1904 Inspector of Native Schools visited Tautoro to investigate the viability of a school being opened.
1906 Official notification of the establishment of a school in Tautoro was posted in the NZ Gazette.
1907 New classroom added.
1950 School moved to Maera site - four classrooms, shelter shed and new outhouses.
1969 Form 1 and 2 students went to Kaikohe Intermediate.
2005 Tautoro School and Awarua School merged due to Network Reviews. Recapitulation and establishment of bi-lingual unit. Relocatable classroom purchased.
2006 Relocatable classroom purchased.
Bi-lingual changed to full immersion.
Celebrated Centennial for Tautoro School.
2007 New administration block – offices, staffroom, library built.
2010 Senior playground built and Technology provided off-site for Year 7 & 8 students.
2013 Joined Ohaeawai and Kaikohe West to form the Kaikohekohe Education Trust.
2014 Chromebooks first rolled out to Years 4 - 8. iPads used by Years 1 - 3. All students have 1:1 digital devices.
2016 Celebrated 110 years.
2018 Rm1 - 4 Annex fully fitted with Teacher Resource Room, Green Room, Radio Room, Break-out Spaces, Art Area and new student toilets moved to the front of the school.
2020 Year 7 and 8 Technology Classes started.
2021-22 Three new classrooms and technology block built.
2023 Room 5 moved beside the library. New playground built for our junior school.
